Southern Maryland Chapter – Catholic Schoolhouse

Welcome to Catholic Schoolhouse  – Southern Maryland Chapter

We’re glad you’re here to learn a little more about our chapter!

We offer a formal homeschool program that is classically rooted in its philosophy.  We have programs for preschool, grammar stage, and dialectic stage this school year.  We also have a cooperative-based nursery program for infants and toddlers.  We will be offering a primary stage class in the Fall for our scholars who have moved beyond preschool but are not quite ready for the grammar stage.  We meet in Newport, Maryland, which is conveniently located on the border of Charles and St. Mary’s counties.

We meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM for instruction.  We will begin our school year this Fall on Thursday, September 15th, 2016.  Daily Mass is available for families who wish at 8:00 AM.  Our day will begin promptly at 9:00 AM with Morning Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and Chorus.  Children will then move into their academics where they will learn and review memory work, enjoy hands-on art and science, and a snack.  At 12:30 PM, we all join back together for closing prayer and announcements.  For those who wish to do so, we bring our brown bag lunches (NO NUTS!) and remain for fellowship.

Will will be using the Year Three materials from Catholic Schoolhouse for the 2016-2017 school year.  Contact Sarah for a Materials Order form to be submitted as a chapter to save on shipping.  Materials families may wish to purchase are the Year Three Tour Guide, the Year Three History Cards, and the Year Three Music Memory Work bundle of four CDs.  All materials are also available at the Catholic Schoolhouse Store.

We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled year!   If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Many Blessings,
